Top 5 Wednesday | 2019 TBR

Hi guys, hope you are all well. It’s been a little while since I did a Top 5 Wednesday and I was supposed to do this last month but forgot…. oops! Today I will be talking about the books that I’d like to get to by the end of the year. Like I mentioned in my last one, Sam (T5W moderator) is taking a break for a few months so I am using some of last years prompts as I’m fairly new to this. If you would like any more information on the T5W group, you can find it here. Let’s get started!

(Like always, this is in no particular order, just my top 5).

1 – Queen Of Ruin – Tracy Banghart | Goodreads |

This is the sequel to Grace and Fury and I think this is coming out this month, which is very exciting! When I first started Grace and Fury I didn’t think I would like it that much because it did seem a little bit like The Selection (which I love) but I just wasn’t loving it for some reason. But then it all changed very quickly and I was hooked! I loved this book in the end and I have been waiting for this for ages and I’m obsessed with this cover – the contrast to the first one is amazing. This is only a duology so if you’re not a fan of big series I’d definitely recommend trying this!

2 – A Reaper at the Gates – Sabaa Tahir | Goodreads |

An Ember in the Ashes has become my favourite YA fantasy of all time and I still haven’t read A Reaper at the Gates!! I think it’s because the fourth one doesn’t come out until next April or May (I can’t remember) and I don’t want to have to wait because it will probably end on a cliffhanger. The action and suspense and romance and everything about this series is so great so I need to read the next one this year!!

3 – In an Absent Dream – Seanan McGuire | Goodreads |

I’ve been meaning to read this for a while because these books are quite short so it shouldn’t take too long to get through. I think, like A Reaper at the Gates, I’ve been putting it off because the next one doesn’t come out until next year and I don’t want to have to wait. I’m not that interested in the character that this one follows but the next one is about my favourite character and I can’t wait to read it!

4 – Little Women – Louisa May Alcott | Goodreads |

Okay so this one is a tad ambitious. I’ve never really been into classics much but I do want to try and read this one because the new movie with Emma Watson is coming out I think at the beginning of next year. Every time I watch that Friends episode where Joey reads Little Women, it really makes me want to read it. I’ve heard great things about it, it’s just sometimes I don’t find classics that interesting (Sorry!).

5 – Shadow and Bone – Leigh Bardugo | Goodreads |

I loved the Six of Crows duology by Leigh Bardugo and I wasn’t too bothered about reading this but consider it is becoming a TV show with Six of Crows (I think?), I think it’s time that I read it. I’ve seen that most people prefer Six of Crows to this trilogy but it’s still set in the same world which I love, plus I want to read King of Scars but you have to read this first.

And that’s my Top 5 books that I want to get to by the end of the year. We’ll see how many I actually read… I’ll maybe do an update at the end of the year.

What book do you want to get to by the end of the year? I’d love to know!

Thanks for reading 🙂
