May Wrap-Up // 2019

Hello everyone, hope you are all well. Welcome to another disappointing wrap-up with yours truly. It appears that I am in a bit of a reading slump which I’m hoping ends soon! I just don’t feel motivated to read AT ALL and I have had to ditch Red, White and Royal Blue. I got nearly halfway but it’s not gripping me like I thought it would. I do hope to get back to it at some point so I’m not classing it as DNFing it just yet. I’ve decided to read something a bit shorter next and hopefully that brings me out of my slump. Anyway, on to the books that I actually read this month!

I read 3 books this month but really I finished off 2 that I had already started last month so essentially I only read 1 whole book. How crap.

1. Crooked Kingdom – Leigh Bardugo

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

I mentioned last month that I’d been reading this for ages and didn’t know when I was going to finish it but I did IT!!! I finally got through this book! I’ve just realised that I still haven’t given this a rating on Goodreads because I couldn’t decide at all. I know this book is good and I have so much love for these characters and the world but for some reason I just struggled to get through it. I listened to the Six of Crows audiobook in March and I think I probably should have listened to this one as well because the cast is amazing! So yes, I would recommend this and I have bought the audiobook so I’ll have to see if my rating changes when I re-read it.

2. I’ve Got Your Number – Sophie Kinsella

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐ 1/2

I mentioned in my book haul that I got this when Audible had a sale and I thought I’d give it a try. I’m so happy that I did because this was such a fun read. I went on a long car trip at the beginning of the month and ended up reading 6 hours of this over two car rides. It was kind of cheesy and a tad unrealistic but it was so lighthearted, which was what I needed. Definitely recommend if you like cute, lighthearted romances!

3. Beautiful Bastard – Christina Lauren

Rating: ⭐

Of course I saved the best ’til last…. not! I’ve already said enough on this book and if you want to read my review you can find it here.

And that’s it… How many books did you read this month? More than me probably! Hopefully I will read more books in June 🙂

Thanks for reading,

Alisha x

  1. Aw no, I’m sorry it’s been slumpy for you! Reading shorter books definitely helps for me! And I was surprised when I found out how long Red White Royal Blue is. I don’t usually read romances that are over 400 pages, buuuut I think I’ll still give this one a shot (…when I’m less busy). Here’s to a better June! 😊 Oh, and that gif is a great summary of your review haha
